WETEX to gather a bigger number of participants in this year’s edition

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced that a wider variety of manufacturers, service providers and international technical organisations will take part in the 21st Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX). DEWA organizes WETEX under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of DEWA. WETEX will be held from 21-23 October 2019 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, with the theme ‘At the forefront of sustainability’. According to DEWA, the wider participation this year guarantees a larger display of new products and technologies to serve wider audience of trade visitors at the exhibition.

WETEX 2019 focuses on sustainability, and disruptive technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution including Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), 3D printing, smart cities and grids, the future of energy sector in the world, energy and water conservation, environment protection, waste management, green buildings, reducing carbon dioxide, protecting natural resources, enhancing environmental security and stimulating innovation in energy.

WETEX has established itself as the largest and most important specialised exhibition in the region in water, energy, and the environment. It has become a major global event and a key platform that brings together exhibitors, visitors, experts, specialists, decision-makers, and investors in these vital sectors. It is an opportunity to make use of the great investment opportunities as well as meet with experts and decision-makers from all over the world.

DEWA organises sessions, panel discussions, in collaboration with experts and specialists from the biggest leading international companies. DEWA also organises workshops, and educational lectures and sessions for visitors and delegates from participating schools and universities. The Green Corner provides opportunities for innovators and inventors from schools and universities to present their green and sustainable projects.

The biggest exhibition of its kind in the region coincides with the 4th Dubai Solar Show, the largest solar energy exhibition in the region, to highlight the latest innovations in the solar sector and the region's largest projects to build partnerships between the public and private sectors to develop innovative solutions. It offers exclusive benefits to participants, such as free registration for companies and products at DEWA, letters of recommendation for products participating in the exhibition, and exclusive field visits to the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.

The Innovation Hall at WETEX and the Dubai Solar Show hosts 20 universities. The hall supports university students by displaying their ideas and innovations in areas such as sustainability, energy, water, renewable energy, gas, oil, transportation, technology, education, health, water and space sciences. The Innovation Hall will also include electronic kiosks for university students.

Both the 20th WETEX and the 3rd Dubai Solar Show, in October 2018, were remarkable successes for exhibitors, visitors, participants from around the world. Over 2,100 exhibitors from 53 countries took part in the exhibitions. The two exhibitions covered an area of 78,413 square metres, and attracted over 35,000 visitors from all over the world.

The two events are under the umbrella of the 6th Green Week, the annual event that DEWA organises. It includes various environmental activities and events to raise awareness about the importance of environment and natural resources protection. Green Week also includes the 6th World Green Economy Summit. It will be attended by international experts in green economies, smart cities, and innovation.
