ADDC and Abu Dhabi University to advance innovation in utility sector

The Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC), a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA Group), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Abu Dhabi University (ADU) to accelerate technical, societal and environmental solutions in the energy sector through research and development. The cooperation aims to promote ties between both entities through training programs and knowledge exchange.

The agreement was signed at ADU’s main campus by H.E Saeed Al Suwaidi, managing director, ADDC and professor Waqar Ahmad, chancellor, Abu Dhabi University.

Commenting on the development, H.E. Saeed Al Suwaidi  said, “There are many mutual benefits to collaborating with academia, which is why we are so thrilled to enter into this partnership with Abu Dhabi University. By supporting research and development and special opportunities for young talent, we are moving our industry forward and helping build a brighter future here at home.”

Meanwhile, professor Waqar Ahmad said, “We are delighted to collaborate with Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC). At ADU, we believe in protecting the environment and building a strong, progressive society. Through our collaboration, we look forward to creating a framework that will advance environmental research. Partnerships like this allow us to provide our students with valuable training and internship opportunities that are critical to preparing them for a competitive job market.”
